Meet your tutor

With over 25 years of teaching experience, Jo Done is a fully qualified online tutor based in West Oxfordshire, working with students across the UK. She holds QTS, a PGCE, a BA (Hons) in Literature and History, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing. Jo began her career as a class teacher in mainstream education, where she observed how busy classrooms can leave some children struggling. In 2014, she transitioned to one-to-one online tuition, providing the individual attention students need to thrive.

Jo now specialises in English, creative writing, and GCSE preparation, supporting students locally in West Oxfordshire (Witney, Burford, Chipping Norton, Woodstock, Carterton) and nationwide. With particular expertise in neurodiversity, Jo is known for her friendly, patient, and confidence-building approach.

Jo’s teaching values centre on kindness, inclusivity, and developing self-belief. By creating a supportive online learning environment, Joanne helps young people feel motivated and capable of making real progress—whether preparing for English GCSEs, improving creative writing, or simply growing in confidence.
